Slavske – known ski resort, where hundreds thousands of tourists spend a good time.
Slavske has everything to let you spend a good time: good weather conditions (ski season lasts from November till late March), various terrain of mountains creates an interesting slopes with varying levels of difficulty and lengths, so both beginners and experienced skiers can come here.
Today Slavske is a great ski resort with total area of 36 square km with multiple centers of skiing at Mount Trostyan, Polytech, Pogar and Velykyi Verkh.

From this mountain you can almost go in any direction - it shares the slopes on the western, northern, central and south sides. Trails of any complexity, including the black (super complicated).
Below the western slope there is the so-called "Big Valley for Dummies" - a perfect place to teach beginners. Near the elevator there is a cloakroom where you can leave things. Right on the mountain there are cafes where you can eat, drink tea, coffee or taste the hot wine.
Mount Polytech well suited for those who are just learning to ski or for parents with children. There are tables and indoor cafes every where so you can have a rest and snack during the skiing.
Tustan (situated in village Urych)
In IX century a rock fortress and city Tustan was founded.
The strange shape of the rocks served as a natural form of walls and spaces between rocks were filled with wood by the builders.
Tustan was a strategically important point and was a part of the Carpathian line of defense for borders of Kyiv Rus and later of Galicia-Volyn Kingdom. The fortress existed at the crossroads of trade routes as a customs control point to the Carpathian passes.
Some suggest that the complex of Uruch’s rocks is a sanctuary, astronomical calendar associated with the movement of Sun.
Today Tustan is a monument of nature and archeology of national importance, which has no analogues in Europe.
In early September thousands of guests come to the village Urych from all over Ukraine at Ukrainian Festival of medieval culture "Tu Stan!" And again, fortress is alive. Swords and arrows can be seen and whistle and music can be heard. The blacksmiths and potters are working, merchants are selling their goods. Music and dances are everywhere.

Sviatouspenska Lavra in Univ
Perfectly restored monastery with almost a thousand-year history - the Sviatouspenska Lavra in Univ. People come here to join the spiritual silence, worship and spiritual integrity of the miraculous icon of Virgin Mary.
Univ is one of the oldest Holly places in Ukraine. Folk legend tells the story of miraculous healing of Prince Lahodovsky near the local spring. As a token of gratitude prince built a church and a monastery here. Here also remains his tomb which is a valuable Renaissance masterpiece.
Krekhiv
Among covered with beech-pine forest hills of Roztochchia, at the foot of the mountain Pobiyna the Krehivsky monastery is situated. It is a complex, which includes splendid examples of Galician architectural school of 17th century. – St. Nicholas Church and other religion buildings, the old defensive walls with towers can be found here. Krekhiv is really beautiful in spring.
Royal City - Zhovkva
This is the only example of "ideal” Renaissance city-fortress in Ukraine, a real jewel of the national architectural heritage.
This is the unique example of architecture and art of 17 century. – Many churches, a synagogue impress with the skills and talents of the builders. City charms with its history and architecture.
Zhovkva has a very rich and interesting history associated with the life and work of famous historical figures: the private residence of the crown hetman Stanislaw Zholkevsky and King Jan III Sobieski, and likely the place of birth and childhood of Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky.
The unique architectural ensemble, which includes fragments of fortifications, the Late Renaissance monumental church of St. Lavrentius, ensemble of Wasillian’s monastery with the Church of the Nativity, as well as a synagogue, Dominican monastery and church. On the old suburbs of Zhovkva you can see the old wooden churches of - Sv.Triytsi and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary that were built in beginning of 18th century.
Beautiful architecture of historic downtown of Zhovkva of 17-20 centuries impresses all who visit or study this magnificent town.
Svirzhsky Castle
On the hill above the river and lake in village Svirzh a castle is standing. It was built in XVI-XVII centuries. The castle has an excellent defensive position, surrounded by impassable marshes, ponds, ditches has and a deceit bridge. This castle was also filmed and due to its excellent location in the picturesque area, it is a great place for spending vacation in any season.
Renaissance styled church built in XV century remained in the castle.
Zolochivsky Castle
Zolochiv is a wonderful small town. For the first time, it is mentioned in 1441, when the Polish king Vladislav gave magnate Jan Senynsky dozens of villages, and Zolochiv among them.
There are many historical monuments in here: St. Nicholas Church build in XIV century. Resurrection Church was built in XVII century. Ascension Church of the XVIII century belongs to Galician Renaissance architecture.
The city is famous for its unique masterpiece of defensive architecture - Zolochivsky castle, built in Baroque style in the XVI - XVII centuries like a citadel with bastions. It is located in the southeastern part of the city on a hill Kupynka. Castle belonged to Sobieski and Radziwill families In the XVII - XVIII centuries.
Today the castle belongs to the Lviv Art Gallery. It is interesting to watch a large palace of the late Renaissance and the Chinese Palace in the courtyard of the castle.
Pidgoretsky Castle
Pidgoretsky Castle is one of Europe's finest examples of a combination of Renaissance palace with fortified bastion.
Castle was built under the guidance of renowned architect Andre del Akvy and Hilyom le Vasser Beauplan where in 1635-1640 he was on the orders of the Crown Hetman Stanislaw Konetspolskikh, one of the greatest magnates of the Rzech Pospolita. Later the owners were Jakub Sobieski, Radziwiłł and Zhevuski Families. It is for Zhevuski Family this palace was called "Polish Versailles".
It should be noted that although the palace was surrounded by ramparts and ditches, it had its own bastion fortifications and arsenal but it was not a very serious defense building at all. This castle was the residence of the magnates, and fortifications had rather ornamental value. For months the orchestral music was played there, parties and military parades were held. Castle was famous for exquisite interiors, rich art collections and numerous books in library. Pidgoretsky castle has a very old sundial.
Pidgoretsky castle is now a branch of the Lviv Art Gallery. Everyone or almost everyone has seen it before perhaps not even knowing that it is located in Ukraine. In the film, "D'Artagnan and Three Musketeers" Pidgoretsky Castle played the role of the Louvre.
Olesky castle
Olesky castle - an outstanding monument of architecture and history of the XIII-XVIII centuries. It is cradle of Ukrainian Hetmans and Polish Kings. It is standing on a high hill for more than six centuries as a witness and participant of many events that have entered the history.
Many things have happened in its history. It was a citadel and a warrior who defended to the last chance for its independence, it was a prisoner, who competed for possession of the Kings, and it was magnificent palace and royal residence.
Today the castle transformed into the museum that serves its people as a treasure of history and culture. The museum contains hundreds of unique paintings, sculpture, decorative arts XIV-XIX centuries. These are icons, portraits, large battle paintings, furniture, tapestries, and a large collection of sculptures of the Lviv school of XIV-XVIII centuries.
There is a restaurant in the castle called "Hrydnytsya”. "Hrydnytsya" is not the Middle Ages styled pub but the real medieval restaurant, which serves its guest with a real Ukrainian cuisine, comfort and unique spirit of the Middle Ages.
