Zolochiv is a wonderful small town. For the first time, it is mentioned in 1441, when the Polish king Vladislav gave magnate Jan Senynsky dozens of villages, and Zolochiv among them.

There are many historical monuments in here: St. Nicholas Church build in XIV century. Resurrection Church was built in XVII century. Ascension Church of the XVIII century belongs to Galician Renaissance architecture.
The city is famous for its unique masterpiece of defensive architecture - Zolochivsky castle, built in Baroque style in the XVI - XVII centuries like a citadel with bastions. It is located in the southeastern part of the city on a hill Kupynka. Castle belonged to Sobieski and Radziwill families In the XVII - XVIII centuries.
Today the castle belongs to the Lviv Art Gallery. It is interesting to watch a large palace of the late Renaissance and the Chinese Palace in the courtyard of the castle.
